
ABOUT LAURA BILLON

Laura Billon is a subject matter expert on fire and arson investigation, interview techniques, youth set fires, forensic science and community risk reduction. She is a Certified Fire Investigator in the state of California with over twenty-five years in the fire service in various capacities. She has a diploma from the University of London's International School of Law where her specializations are Children's Law and Youth Justice. She possesses a Masters Degree in Forensic Science with an emphasis on Investigations and Criminology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Administration, teaches in the Fire Technology Department at Miramar College in San Diego and is an instructor in the Arson and Fire Prevention Management Departments for the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Fire Administration / National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. She is POST certified and is an arson instructor to the San Diego Sherriff Department’s Regional Training Academy and has previously served on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Forensic Professionals, Homeland Security Foundation of America and the California Conference of Arson Investigators (IAAI Chapt. 22).
